The Tigers got off to a fine start in their first ever knockout cup game with a five-nil win.  Newhall just had too much all over the pitch and at times, overwhelmed their lower division opponents.

Fantarrow started the rout, tapping in at the far post after Cantrill and Sharp had cut through Stretton down the left.  Soon after it was two.  A great run by Sharp down the left, saw an inch perfect pass to Fantarrow, whose feather like touch guided the ball into the net.  The third Tigers goal involved some lovely interplay, Sharp to Fantarrow, then back to Sharp on the edge of the area to bend the ball past the keeper.  Then, on the stroke of half time, the game was over for Stretton as Fantarrow's quick throw caught Stretton napping, and Sharp raced through to smash the ball into the bottom right hand corner.

That the Tigers' only scored the one goal in the second half was just ridiculous.  Although Stretton had a few half chances early on, none of them really tested Shakespeare in the Newhall goal.  It wasn't long though before the Tigers laid seige on the Stretton goal.  Fantarrow, Elks and Taylor all spawned excellent chances to add to the scoring before Fantarrow's free kick was stabbed home by Sharp close in for the fifth and to complete his hat-trick.

Taylor and Elks both then put shots wide when well placed as the Tigers cantered home.

Tigers Star Man... Tristan Sharp... a masterclass performance.
