The Tigers progressed into Round 3 of the U10 Knockout Cup with a good performance against Whittington Wildcats, the early pacesetters in Division 2.

The Tigers began the game determined to record their first win of this stop-start season, and two slick passing moves of real quality – one in each half – settled the tie.

Owen struck the Tigers first goal of the season (well deserved given his recent performances) and Theo recorded his first BJFL goal.  Both strikes finishing off almost identical passing moves which started in defence and progressed through the thirds of the pitch with Joseph playing a key part in both passages of play.

The Tigers looked relatively comfortable throughout the match, carving out several good opportunities whilst restricting Whittington to just one clear cut chance in the first half along with some half chances and cross shots.

But, in the latter stages, a stumble in defence left the Whittington winger with time to pick his spot and grab a consolation goal, just moments before the final whistle, which ruined what would have been a deserved clean sheet.
