The Tigers had a first half to forget against early pace setters Chellaston.

In rain sodden conditions Newhall never got their passing game going.  The warning signs were there on three minutes when a Chellaston forward waltzed through a sleepy defence to hit a post.  It was however, a quick fire salvo midway through the first half that ended this as a contest.  A long range effort that Shakespeare nearly kept out, put Chellaston one up.  Then minutes later a simple through ball sent the Chellaston forward racing away to score.

Although by effort and commitment, the Tigers mustered several chances, Theo and Owen both going close, the shot count of 14 to 4 at half time told its own story.

The Tigers were a lot better in the second half, more organised and better in possesion, but the damage had been done.  Theo, Oliver and Lewis all had good chances but Chellaston just soaked everything up and played on the break, and the game, just like the weather, fizzled out into a damp squib.
