The Tigers lost this opening fixture in heartbreaking fashion in the final five minutes.

After a nervy opening, this game turned into a thriller.  Cantrill and Sharp both fired wide for the Tigers in the early exchanges.  Belvedere then created several chances but nothing clear cut due to some resolute defending.  Sharp then nearly opened the scoring with an instant shot that went just wide with the keeper well beaten.

It was then Belvedere who began to ask the questions, with Collins making three excellent saves in quick succession, one of which he palmed away a fizzing shot from the dangerous Belvedere number 7.  The Tigers though once again counter punched and Sharp had a shot cleared off the line in the last throes of the first half.

The Tigers opened the second half on fire, Sharp going close from a free kick, then Shakespeare shot just wide when well placed.  Five minutes into the restart, the Tigers opened the scoring.  Belvedere failed to clear a corner and Shakespeare smashed the ball into the net from close range.

Belvedere then poured forward in search of an equaliser, but the Tigers defended from front to back with a steadfast resolve, and a bit of luck!  Sharp nearly doubled the lead shooting wide after a lovely counter attack orchestrated by Fantarrow.

However the Tigers were finally breached with four minutes to go.  Shakespeare, who had shackled Belvedere's best player could do nothing as the number 7 raced through a flat footed Tigers defence to slide the ball past Collins for the equaliser.  Two minutes later the roof fell in on the Tigers.  For the first time in the game they watched and a shot which would have been routinely saved, deflected off Newhall's Taylor for the winner.

This was rough justice on the Tigers, who through sheer commitment were worth a point.  They will play a lot worse than this and still get points in this division.

Tigers star man... Joe Shakespeare... a superb display, deserved the goal, but not the result!

A real shame we didn't get at least a point from this game, the effort put in by the lads was fantastic!
