The Jaguars 3rd game of the Season threw up a clash against the Green & White Hoops of Barton Colts. The Jaguars started well having the better possesion of the opening exchanges. Lannis managed to get in behind the Barton defence a couple of times, Matthew and Thomas looked solid at the back with their new defensive partnership. 5 minutes into the game the Jaguars pressed high to earn a corner, using the set peice work the Jaguars had done at training the night before Zane put in a great delivery which Poppy put loads of pressure onto the Barton defender forcing him to put the ball into his own net. This seem to up the urgency of the Barton team who immeadiately started to put pressure on the Jaguars Michael made a couple of solid saves before a quickly taken corner caught the Jaguars off guard and Barton equalised. Barton continued to pile on the pressure but the Jaguars looked dangerous on the break with Junior nearly getting in behind the Barton defence after a good through ball from Lannis, however despite the best efforts the Jaguars defence Barton scored another few goals. Jacob and Thomas were introduced into the fray, having an instant impact. Jacob picked on the ball on the half way line and went on a run reminiscent of Michael Owen in 1998 but unfortantely was stopped from scoring at the last moment. The Jaguars continued to put pressure on Barton with Thomas pressing the Barton defence high up the pitch, Matthew and other Thomas continued to win the ball at the back and then distrubuted the ball down the wings to good effect. Junior & Lannis had good chances to score blocked and Poppy also had a good opportunity blocked by the Barton defence. At half time overall it was a good performance with Jaguars feeling like they could of had a few more goals.

The second half proved a bit harder for the Jaguars as Barton found there shooting range with some great strikes from distance. Despite the best efforts of Michael and the Jaguars defence Barton managed to score a few more goals. Jacob had a half chance to pull one back again after some nice one two football with Lannis and Zane but was unable to find the target.

Overall performance was a good improvement from the previous week.

Star of the Game was Jacob for his mazy runs and hard work in midfield
