Tenacious Tigers blow away Bromley.

Starting line up: Lewis (GK), Josh (RB), Mia (CB), Travis (LB), Dom (RM), Tom (DM - Capt), Alex (AM), Adam (LM), Thomas (Att). Subs: Louis, Ben, Harry, Brett.

With the cup game against Bromley a tight and hard fought game the same was to be expected today and Tigers pre-match team talk was about strength and the need to battle hard.

The minutes silence was impeccably observed by players and spectators alike from both sides. And the game got underway with Bromley attacking the goal with the sun behind Lewis in goal. The early exchanges were well fought in the middle of the park. With Tigers battling really well and not giving Bromley the time to play.

Tigers pressed and forced much of the attack early on but it was Bromley who opened the scoring against the run of play. 0-1.

Tigers continued to press and work hard all over the pitch. Some really good passing football was great to see. A lovely through ball to Alex saw himself through on the keeper and he knocked it past and around only to be clipped by the keepers heels and he couldn't keep his feet to slot home and the Ref failed to award a penalty.

Tigers didn't have to wait much longer though to benefit from a clumsy Bromley defenders challenge on Alex in the box and the ref did point to the spot this time. Dom stepped up a smashed it into the net. 1-1.

Tigers soon took the lead with a great curled effort from Dom, to put Tigers 2-1 up and in control of the rest of the half.

The second half started with Thomas on for Brett in attack, Harry on the left, Ben on the right and Louis in the middle in front of the back three.

Bromley started the brighter and forced a corner early on, some poor marking and a great header saw Bromley draw level. 2-2.

Tigers continued to work hard and were firm and fair in the challenge. Travis playing on the left of the back three today was immense, so solid, timing his challenges to perfection and winning everything he went for, added to that some great distribution.

Further changes made with Tom and Dom back on in the midfield with fresh legs and hunger to get back in the action.

Harry had a great game today out wide and battled hard and found himslef in great postions in the box at the right time but just unable to poke one home.

Tigers upped the tempo as the passion of the game took hold with some feisty challenges going in. Some good keeping from the Bromley keeper kept Tigers out on more than one occassion. However, the Bromley defence was breached when Alex powered his way to a fantastic second half brace for his 16th and 17th goals of the season putting Tigers comfortably 4-2 to the good.

The game saw some fiery challenges from both sides and a bit of sillyness from A Bromley player could have saw him in the ref's book for a petulant boot of the ball from close range into the midrif of Dom, who with credit to Dom didn't react. But the ref only saw fit to have words with both players which was slightly puzzling.

Tigers rounded off the game with some great passing football and follow in play. The ball was saved by the Bromley keeper but Thomas was in the right place at the right time to thunder home the rebound to end the scoring. 5-2.

Full time: Tigers 5 - 2 Abbotts Bromley.

MOTM: Travis on the left of defence was immense today. Really solid defending and great distribution.

Black out winner: Bretts Uncle!

A really, tough competitive game of football. Tigers football did the talking on the day though. :-)

Finally, a massive thanks for your fantastic support again this morning and on a personal note thanks for the donations for my 'Movember' efforts, with half of todays teas/coffees/cakes profits donated to the fund.
