What a difference a week can make in football as the Lions bounced back from the heavy defeat last week to play a Hatton team who had just dropped down from Division 2 and put in a great win against them.

Team was GK - Corey, D - Daniel, D - Sam, LM - Jenson, CM - Billy, RM - Will, S - Calum, Subs were Jack and Cash with Kian unfortunetly missing out through illness this week.

A new player introduced in Billy into the centre of Midfield gave the Lions a new lease of life with a great performance put in on his debut for the team. He pressed the opposition well and never gave the Hatton players a moment on the ball.

Jenson came in to help the Lions this week from the Rams with them not having a game and continued his good form with another good performance in the Midfield.

Calum has made the move from the Rams team to Lions permantly to give us a difference outlet on the pitch and to give him more gametime to continue to develop on the performances we have seen with the Rams already.

Corey's confidence in goal came back and he commanded his area well and pulled off some good saves when called upon.

Moving Daniel into defence with Sam gave us a good balance and solid look in defence and they were also well backed up when Jack came on later in the game.

The midfield 3 of Jenson, Billy and Will put in a great performance and worked tirelessly for the team in both defence and in attack. When Cash came on to give them a rest and rotate around he also put in a solid display and exactly what i have been looking for.

Calum played a key part up front holding the ball up and not giving the Hatton defenders anytime to play football. Jack also had a spell up front and did exactly the same when he was there.

2 goals conceded were well worked goals from Hatton but goals from Billy on his debut, Jack scoring a good goals as he did not let the defence rest and pressed well and got the reward at the end of it. Calum socred on his first game for the Lions and he deserved more than the one he got. Jenson scored two as well from midfield and showed the others in midfield that you can get forward with confidence and get your name on the scoresheet.

Man of the Match could have gone to any one of the players but i gave it to Will this week. He didn't get his name on the scoresheet this week but was very unlucky. However, his performance going forward showed great confidence but also his tracking back and convering in defence shows how much he has listened to the role required.

Well done guys, it was so good to see a smile back on your faces and if we continue with this they will be more smiles to have.
