Rams grind out the win.
Rams starting line up: Lewis (GK), Callum (RB), Thomas and Brad (CB), Mia (LB) Mitchell and Josh (DM), Ben (RM), Charlie (LM), Tom (AM), Harry (Att), Subs Adam, Ksha, Rhys, Kian.
A slight change of player line up compared to last week with Tom playing further advanced and Mitchell dropping back. This to hopefully allow us to play better football and link up Better with Harry up front.
It was Rams who started the brighter and had the ball in the net after just a minute but Harry's challenge on the keeper to head it in was deemed as excessive and it was disallowed.
Hatton seemed to pack the defence in an attempt I can only guess to stifle the attacking power of Harry after last weeks demolition job by him. This seemed to work for them as we struggled to break them down.
It took a momenet of excellence for Rams to break the deadlock. on 27 Minutes Charlie picked it up 20 yards out on the left of the box and hit a high looping effort into the top corner out of the keepers reach. An early contender for goal of the season.
Half time Rams 1 - 1 Hatton.
Rhys dropped in to DM and Ksha into midfield. Ksha had a great game today and used the ball sensibly, never rushed and did the simple things really well. Call linked well with Ben on the right too.
The back four looked solid but need to be a little more disciplined in their positions and organisation, but its only 4 games in and they are doing well. The pace of Brad at the back has proved a real bonus too to catch any break aways. Thomas and Mia their usual rock like selves too. This may seem strange too, but Adam got penalised for a foul with a push in the back from a throw in ! Nice one Adam !
Discontent in the Rams back four however led to some forced changes and left us exposed and this let Hatton back in to the game as they scrambled home an equaliser with 15 to go.
That said Rams battled on in search of a winner. Tom linked well with Harry in attack and Mitchell was disciplined in defence for the remainder of the game.
With 5 minutes to go Harry forced his way in to the area and was fouled to earn the Rams a penalty. Up stepped Harry and he smashed it wide of the keeper to net the Rams what would turn out to be the winner.
Full time: Rams 2 - 1 Hatton.
Well done to the Rams, following up last weeks win with another today. Tom lead the team well today, organising well and heading with determination. Ksha had a very good game too and plays some nice football. Brad gives us some pace at the back to deal with any break aways and reads the game well. And a great goal from Charlie too.
