What a fantastic start to the new season for the Lions.
Team was Logan in goal, Daniel Earp and Daniel Burt in defence, midfield three of Harrison, Noah and Tommy with Tyler playing up front.
The attitude and energy shown by each player was a joy to watch. The front four put pressure onto the Repton team which was always putting us on the front foot.
The passing and moving which we have been working on in training showed on the pitch and the first goal was something to witnessed. A good ball out wife to Tyler who demonstrated some good skills before putting a great cross over which was met close in at the far post by Harrison to put his name on the first goal scored this season.
Before this we had been unfortunate not to have scored with the Repton keeper pulling good saves from Noah, Tommy and Tyler. However, they were not be put off getting on the scoresheet as the fantastic attitude and play continued with some great moves bring done and super teamwork along with some set peice corners working well. Both Tommy and Tyler were rewarded with hat tricks and Noah got two to his name. Some great strikes from distance included in these.
Further back the defensive trio of the two Daniels and Logan did everything in stopping the attacks coming there way. They should be very proude of the performances they put in as this platform helped the players further forward in there roles. They were also helped by a great performance from Noah who was everywhere on the pitch.
All players were rotated around during the game and Tommy produced a fantastic save when put in goal from a Repton free kick which look destined for the top corner.
Repton continued to try and should be applauded for this and were rewarded with a goal late on which brought smiles on there faces.
All our players looked over the moon (and so they should be) of a great start.
Enjoy this result and continue the hard work in the next game.
Well done everyone
