It was great to be back in action after a fortnight break due to our week off and this other missing week due to a loss of a team in our league.

The team spirit was brilliant to see as we had a full quota of players available which left 5 players playing in each half.

The first half team was Kian playing his first game in goal, Callum in defence, Noah & Corey A in Midfield and Freya up front. Freya was made Captain for the game.

The five on the side lines in the first half showed how together the team is becoming as the were encouraging and cheering there team mates on throughout.

Kian pulled off a few great saves in his first game in goal and should be very proud of his efforts. His confidence continues to grow and was unlucky to be beaten on a couple of occasions. He started off a number of moves with good passes out from his area.

Callum is becoming a fantastic defender and put in some fantastic tackles throughout the first half. He leads by example in his play and put in another performance which had people on the sidelines applauding for his tackles with one particular slide tackle standing out.

Noah and Corey were full of energy in the midfield and both are very comfortable on the ball. Noah's surging runs up the pitch were rewarded with two very nicely taken goals and he was very unlucky not to add to this. He also tracked back nicely to assist Callum when needed and was always trying to bring Freya into the game where possible. Corey is developing more each game and was unlucky not to add to his goal he got in the first game. He is comfortable going forward and his dribbling and control is very good.

Freya was again up front and she tried really hard to get involved where possible. Sometimes she was left a little isolated but she game further back and put a couple of great tackles in on the opposition which she seemed so proud of (as was I!!). She continues to try to get hold of the ball and her confidence when she has it is improving each week. No real chances to get her shots in this week but we will certainly be striving to get her first goal on the board soon.

The second half team was Logan starting in goal, Lewis in defence, Jenson and Daniel in the Midfield and CJ up front.

Logan started in goal and pulled off a couple of good saves where required. He is not scared to put his foot/hand in where it hurts and this is always a good thing to have, whether you are in goal or put. I changed him half way through the half for Jenson. When Logan went in midfield he was constantly running and putting his tackles in and was very unfortunate not to get his name on the score sheet.

Lewis is like Callum and is starting to develop into a very good defender. He puts his tackles in and keeps to his position well, not moving out of position. His left foot is fantastic and certainly can quickly change from defence to attack.

Jenson did some fantastic running in the first part of the half. He made some great surges forward and was rewarded with a fantastic solo goal where he dribbled past a couple of the opposition and hitting the ball past a very good goalkeeper. His performance in goal when changed was again of the standard we have come to see from Jenson. He is turning into another great all rounder in the team and can perform in a number of positions really well.

Daniel put in a great performance in the midfield and put in some great tackles and his composure on the ball is good to see when he is trying to get passing going on in the game. He has confidence to put a foot on the ball and pass which is a fantastic achievement and a sign of the hard work we are putting in training on this side of the game. To put a foot on the ball and pick a pass is a very difficult part of the game and he is taking to this very well. He very nearly set up a goal with hsi passing through to Corey who was unfortunate to just put it wide. If this was just the other side of the post it would have resulted in a great team goal.

CJ was put in attack this week following a super show in training with his shooting boots. The confidence is starting to flow with CJ and he is developing into a very good footballer. He is comfortable on the ball and is not scared of shooting when he gets a chance. He had a couple of really good efforts and it certainly will not be long before we see his name appearing on the scoresheet.

Another very good performance so keep up the good work. The game was played in good spirits against a good Rolleston side.
