A miserable night all round for the Rams.

Rams line up: Lewis (GK), Josh (RB), Callum (LB), Mia & Leo (CB), Tom (DM & Capt), Alex (AM), Ben (RM), Ryhs (LM) Brett & Thomas (ATT).

Subs: Harry and Adam.

Rams got soaked even before the kick off as the opposition (Barton United) and referee showed up late, meaning kick off delayed 15 minutes.

The pitch was in great shape and prime for slick passing, sadly it was the opposition who played the better early football with the Rams defence run ragged. Mia struggling in the middle of defence nursing a foot injury and Leo making his first competitive start in the blue and white. The inexperience and injury hampered Rams significantly and it was our opponents that raced into the lead with some well taken goals.

Other injuries and warings disrupted us even further with Tom taking a knock and Callum finding it difficult at times and Thomas warned over a couple of challenges.

Rams did get a couple of goals back before the end of the half, firstly Alex on the scoresheet with a well taken freekick again and then a penalty award that was cooly slotted home by Tom for his second of the season.

Half Time : Rams 2 - 5 Barton.

Change of formation at half time with 3 centre backs and 2 wing backs. Leo, Mia and Thomas in the heart of the defence with Josh and Callum pushing on.

Rams saw a lot more of the play second half but Barton were the better side. That siad there were positives as the game wore on. Tom's endless energy and never say die attitude stood out as a good leader should. Harry got into the game more and Callum did well playing further advanced. As much as the play Rams had, Barton still managed to open up our defence, Lewis doing brilliantly well on many occassions to deny the Barton attack. That said they did manage to double their tally and we only managed to add one more even if there were some over zealous challenges and there was a risk of someone getting hurt.

Tom hit a cracking effort from outside the box that the keeper did brilliantly to get to but the ball came down and Alex was there to smash it home, but no more than a consolation.

Full Time: Rams 3 - Barton 10.

The full time score didn't flatter Barton, they were the better team. Rams kept going to the end in difficult conditions and can be praised for that. Hopefully with Travis set to return to the team this weekend will see a little more experience and speed added to the Rams ranks.

Player of the match - This went to Lewis who did well on a busy night for him. Kicking improving all the time and great shot-stopping.
