Tigers swept aside by the wind and Marlborough.

Tigers line up: - Lewis (GK), Josh (RB), Mia (CB), Brett (LB), Tom (DM), Alex (AM), Ben (RM), Adam (LM), Thomas (ATT). Subs Louis, Callum, Harry.

Today saw Tigers battling agaisnt the both the wind and the opposition and unfortunately came out on the wrong side against both.

Tigers had the wind at their backs first half but failed to make that advantage pay. Marlborough were the more creative and played some good passing football. Tigers truggled against the phyiscal nature of their play and created little in attack. The opposition opened the scoring after 5 mins with a neat passage of play and the attacker slotting it wide of the advancing Lewis. Shortly after they made it 2 - 0 from the spot after Josh had upended the Marlborough attacker on the edge of the area.

Half Time Tigers 0 - 2 Marlborough.

Tigers were warned at half time that they would have it tougher second half with the wind in their faces. It didn't take long for the warning signs to appear as Marlborough attacked again but saw the ball fly wide. Tigers had upped their workrate second half and battled a lot better, Tom in the middle of the park was outstanding today, non stop effort and challenges, long throws and creating rare Newhall attacks. Lewis made a brilliant save second half too tipping over a high Marlborough drive. The Ref played a significant part in todays game with some dubious decisions and an unwillingness to listen to or take guidance from the assistant on many many occasions which did nothing for teams morale and spirit. Tigers came closest to getting a goal when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area. Alex stepped up and hit a great curling shot over the wall and it hit the inside of the far post and Thomas following up could only hit it wide. That kind of summed things up today for Tigers. And it was Marlborugh who also added to their goal tally second half with 3 further goals. An unlucky OG from the Newhall defender also a sign of our luck today.

Full time Tigers 0 - 5 Marlborough.

Todays player of the match (chosen by Ian Hawkins) went to Tom. His non stop effort and work rate made him todays stand out player.

Black out winner - Mia ( With Liverpool )

Thanks for your wonderful support as always. One more game to go next weak against the same opposition, followed by the teams end of season party at Midlands Karting.
