Tigers come out comfortable winners against a decent Ashby side.

Tigers were up against a weakened Ashby Ivanhoe side, who with fair play to them played some really good football with a lot of their side made up of U11 players.

The early exchanges were quite scrappy with neither side able to get a hold of the game. It took Tigers around 15 minute to open the scoring. With the Goodall goal machine getting in to action to fire an unstoppable drive past the Ashby Keeper.

Tigers second came after some clever play by Tom, he made himself available for a short corner from Dom, took his time to get to the edge of the 18 yard box and put in a perfect cross for Thomas to slot home Tigers second.

This seemed to settle Tigers down and they actually began to play some good sensible passing football with Tom the orchestrator in the middle of the park.

All the subs into the action, Louis Buck having a good solid game on the right of midfield for the second week running.

Tigers used the space well and opened up Ashby a further two times with two further goals and a first half hat-trick for Alex.

Half time - Tigers 4 - 0 Ashby.

With the game this one sided and almost certainly won it gave us the opportunity to change things round quite a bit.

Dom went in goals and Lewis played Left midfield and all the other players rolled on and off frequently and in different positions to keep things fresh.

Tom playing up front at the start of the second half, got his reward for a great game by bagging his second of the season by nutmegging the keeper. Alex added a couple more to his tally, the best was scored after a perfect through ball by Tom and the keeper advancing he chipped the keeper with the outside of his right foot.

Alex's fifth goal came courtesy of a great kick up from stand in keeper Dom. Alex through on goal with Adam to his right, but he couldn't make the square pass as Adam had strayed slightly offside, but none-the-less Alex coolly slotted it wide of the keeper with his left foot.

In the midst of all the Tigers goals however, Ashby did find the net, when a bit of a goalmouth scramble rebounded off Ben and squirmed over the line. To be fair, Ashby deserved a goal for all their good play and non stop effort.

Mia was close to adding to the Tigers tally near the end but shot just wide.

Full time.

Tigers 7 - 1 Ashby.

MOTM - Chosen by Paul Hudson, went to Tom. Some simple football, great passing, and a goal to top it off.

Blackout winner - Jarrad Hammond.

Big thanks to all that braved the cold to cheer on the Tigers today.
