NEWHALL SUFFER AT THE HANDS OF THE CHAMPIONS ELECT

Newhall resumed after a long break due to the severe weather needing to knuckle down and get some points on the board, well it was never going to be the case today as they were sent out to just enjoy the game as best they could with a bare 11 players and no substitutes the task was always going to be very difficult against a team that are riding high in the league.

There is little point dwelling on the result, but had Newhall been as clinical as Branston were in the first half the scoreline could have looked so much different but their shooting boots were not on today, with Connor, Ben, James, McKlane and Harry all missing the chance to lesten the deficit as the game wore on to half time.

What they did show though was detrmination not to let the scoreline deter them from keep trying to apply themselves and they continued in the same vein through the second half and finally got their just rewards with a goal from Sean 5 minutes from time, which sent the home supporters into raptures to try and remove some of the earlier tension off the pitch following some poor sportmanship from the Branston players and coaches.

Dave and Phil had to keep Sam in check at the end being stand in goalkeeper today his task was always going to be a thankless one but he felt the pain all the same, and they both went on to praise the team for their non stop running and heart they showed to not let Branston go off the field thinking they were walking away without having done some defending today.

Let's put the game behind us and keep going to see where we will end up at the end of the season, their is no point thinking about it anymore today, move on and come back next game to go again, to be fair to the lads they all were feeling the result and this is a good thing because it shows they care about Newhall and playing for the club.

Man of the Match was Ben who had to move around the pitch all game in different positions but stuck to everything he was asked to do with his energy given this was a first full game for 2 weeks.

Next Game: Measham Welfare Home 24th February

UP THE NEWHALL!!
