A much needed return to action following a period of two months without a game saw the Lions really eager to impress.

Daniel was made captain for the game and his confidence is increasing each week and saw him put some great tackles in on the opponents and was very close to scoring his first goal for Newhall, seeing his effort not quite make it over the line.

Tommy Large performed brilliantly this week and from his deep position saw him sweeping up the play from the opposition brilliantly. He also added him himself into the other half which resulted in him scoring two very good goals.

Noah was running all over the pitch in the first half, putting in some great tackles and also looking for passing to his team mates whenever he got the chance. He took a little knock neat the end of the first half but swapped places in the second half and saw himself take the keeper gloves. He again performed well in goal and pulled off a fantastic double save late on in the second half which most keepers would be proud of.

Jenson replaced Noah when he went off and he was full of energy putting more tackles in and was key in setting up a goal late on in the first half.

Logan also started the game and he was a little whirlwind for the entire time he was on the pitch. He has so much energy and enthusiasm which sees him putting great tackles in at the back and making surging runs forward. He was rewarded with yet another goal to add to his previous tally.

The second half resulted in the introduction of Callum and Freya with Freya getting involved in the oppositions half and you can see is starting to gain a little more confidence each week against the boys she is coming up against.

Callum put some fantastic challenges in during the second half and was soon into the speed of the game and getting involved in both areas of the pitch.

A great game for anyone to watch with both teams playing some good football and we should take a lot from this game and take it on to next week against winshill.

The team is starting to work together more now and is was clear to see from the side how much everyone was enjoying themselves.

Keep the good work up!!
