Chellaston Too Strong Again!

The eagles returned to action after a month off  with a top of the league clash with Chellaston.

The eagles started brightly and Keeley Deery forced the Chellaston keeper into a good save. Chloe Woodward, in the Newhall goal, then produced a better save to her right to keep the teams level.

On 18 minutes Chellaston took the lead after a fine strike from the edge of the area and could have then extended their lead but fired over from 8 yards.

Chloe was soon in action making a great save to her left pushing the shot round the post. Keeley then shot from the left but the effort went wide.

Ella Walker then broke through the Chellaston defence but fired at the keeper and then she created space in the area for herself with a great turn but her shot was saved.

Chloe made another super save to her right and then Chellaston were awarded a penalty and Chloe stood firm as the Chellaston player chipped the ball into her arms. Her save of the match saw her down low and then up to collect the follow up.

HT 0-1

The eagles began the second half well and on 46 minutes a break against the run of play saw Chellaston break and Chloe save the shot but she could not keep out the follow up.

Jodie Oughton fired a good effort at the Chellaston goal but saw her fine strike just over. Chloe Johnston the broke down the left and found Natalie Eley in the six yard box to finish well on 55 minutes.

Chellaston went down to eight players and the eagles pushed for the equaliser but couldn't get past the stubborn defence.

On 71 minutes Chloe was unlucky after coming off her line well but the shot just slipped under her.

On 72 minutes Chellaston broke again to increase their lead and on 75 minutes they completed their scoring with a great goal from the edge of the area giving Chloe no chance.
